David R. M. Beck is an award-winning historian and is a Professor in the University of Illinois Department of History. He is professor emeritus of Native American Studies at the University of Montana, where he served as department chair from 2010-2014. He previously served as senior resident faculty and dean of NAES (Native American Educational Services) College in Chicago.
